Business Secret: Collaboration is Key

Updated: Dec 31, 2021

If you don’t get anything from reading this, leave with these two concepts cemented in your mind:

1) There is more than enough money to go around

2) We all can win

So many entrepreneurs feel the need to compete, and while competition can be healthy, collaboration should never be overlooked. I’ve been an entrepreneur for two years, and I can say that collabs are one of the best kept business secrets.

It’s crucial to understand that every brand has an audience, and every person has a network. When you collaborate with a business and build a healthy, creative, mutually-beneficial partnership, you’ll notice that your brand enters spaces you wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to enter without the partnership. You also notice an expansion in your brand’s awareness, which most times translates into new clients/customers, and ultimately additional income.

At Boss Summit, 20+ women from at least 10 industries will be under one roof. Did I mention they’ll be coming from all over the U.S.? New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Washington D.C., just to name a few places. Many of them have built the brands of some of the top influencers and celebrities that we all love.

I mention this because during those four days, you are bound to find a fellow boss lady to build a healthy, creative and mutually-beneficial partnership with. And if not, remember that each woman has a network. By building a genuine relationship with her, you have access to her network, which may be where the partnership lies. This partnership in turn exposes your brand to potential clients/customers, and even puts your name in rooms you never thought you’d hear it in. To collaborate means to build lasting connections that extend beyond the lifetime of the partnership. That’s what makes it a power move.

Collaborating also gives you an opportunity to make lucrative moves with people who can do what you’re not familiar with. If you don’t understand (or don’t want to learn) how to do something, collaborate with someone who does. Not knowing how to accomplish a task is no longer a valid excuse, boss babe.

Boss Summit will put you in the space of several women from different industries and locations. The best part is that they all have different experience levels, meaning that wherever you are in your journey, it’s highly possible that you’ll find someone you align with. For example, the retreat’s keynote speaker,

Marilyn Van Alstyne, has more than 15 years of experience with Combs Enterprises, and she is known as one of Diddy’s most trusted confidants. On the flip side, women who are less than a year into their entrepreneurial journey will also be in attendance and be of equal value. Several boss women means several networks, which means several collaboration opportunities.

Contrary to popular belief, there is more than enough money to go around for all of us, and there is more than enough room for us all to win. Boss Summit 2020 will show just that.

See you soon,

Lynn Brishae
